Nathalie Boutet

Nathalie is a skilled Family Law lawyer with almost 20 years of experience, and is committed to the practice of Collaborative Law for separating couples and families. This commitment is rooted in the tremendous value the Collaborative process can deliver, and Nathalie's dedication to achieving exceptional results for her clients. Nathalie guides her clients during the difficult emotional and financial process with a holistic and results-oriented approach that provides many short and long-term emotional and financial benefits. Nathalie's years of practice and life experience have refined her strength and sense of fairness, and she believes everyone should be able to face the future with confidence. Nathalie is a member of the Chief Justice of Ontario Advisory Committee on Professionalism and the Equity and Aboriginal Issues Committee of the Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC) and is also a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court. She is a member and former president of the Association of French speaking jurists of Ontario (AJEFO) and received the AJEFO's Award of Distinction in 2004. Nathalie is frequently called upon by the media to discuss family law legal issues, and has been a guest speaker and co-chair and has written several articles for various Continuing Legal Education programs. She has an interest in public education, teaches Collaborative Law and has been an instructor at the LSUC's Bar Admission Course for several years, and also teaches Parent Information Sessions to separating families. Nathalie obtained her Civil Law Degree from Laval University and her Common Law Degree from the University of Western Ontario. Nathalie began her legal career as a sole practitioner and joined Basman Smith as a partner in 2003. Nathalie is fluent in English and French. She has a daughter, enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities including down hill skiing, biking, hiking, and playing hockey and soccer.
