Richard J. Worsfold LL.B.

Richard concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, wrongful dismissal and personal injury litigation.

Richard brings a practical and cost efficient approach to each file and attempts to secure a reasonable settlement for his clients whenever possible. Where settlement has not been possible, Richard has appeared in Ontario Courts at all levels. Over the years Richard has negotiated settlements worth millions of dollars to his clients in such matters as traffic fatality cases, disability claims, shareholder rights disputes and wrongful dismissal claims. When in Court, the Judgments Richard has won have been reported in legal reporting services across Ontario and Canada.

Richard completed his LL.B. at Osgoode Hall School in 1983 following undergraduate studies at Queens University. After practicing with smaller firms, Richard joined Basman Smith in 1990 and was admitted to the partnership in 1992. Richard is also a trained mediator and offers his services as mediator to counsel in Toronto in a variety of practice areas.

When he’s not practicing law, Richard enjoys travel, cycling and photography.
